| We're getting nearer the time for the Fray in Ferndale, and a lot of people are asking what setups people are using. Wizzard makes a front end wheel assembly that should work on any of the tracks at that race, or any other. Do to the unique features of this system, a driver can add or subtract weight according to the different needs posed by different track designs and surfaces, from oval routed tracks, to the curviest Fray Lock and Joiner styles. The set includes the rims, tires, axel and retainers. It's the addition of two sets of sleeves that puts these in a special class. Without any sleeves, the wheels weigh in at 2 grams. Add the first sleeve, and you raise that to 2.4 gm. Add the next set, and it climbs to 2.8. Now, why would that matter? Well, I guess it's physics. The addition of weight in the front, on a T-jet, tends to make it understeer. That helps a lot in very curvy tracks. Add too much weight, though, and the cars tends to pull out more easily. For a routed track with just a few large radii, you might be better off with the least amount of weight up front. This system adapts to all of those conditions. These fronts use a solid axel, which we prefer over the systems that use hollow axels. We also like the retainers that press on, rather than flanged "pins". Lose one, and all you need to do is cut off a little of the red spray extension nozzle from WD 40 for a replacement. No tools are necessary to install them, other than a rap with a needle nosed plier. Removal is best done with a wheel puller. We have only one suggestion to offer. Make a choice of tires available, to accomadate the conditions of various tracks. .The ones included are rather hard, and for non-magnet cars like T-jets, they make the ride on plastic jointed track a little rough. Two options would be just fine, one a lot softer than the other. The system will cost you $7.49. Wheels are made of solid brass, axels are steel. diameter is 1.5 mm, tire size is .360.
