Though I originally attempted to make these cavities with a "back" on them, with small tire chassis (normal 440s) it's best to drill right on through into a block of wood. Then, when you superglue the magnets into the holes, try to get them flush with the bottom of the chassis. If they protrude, with the smaller tires on most of the cars, you'll have too much grip in front, and can fry an armature pretty fast... just ask Chris Moellering! The drill size is 3/16".
