One Size Fits All - Fandango has a mighty winner

Fandango Racing has been making competitive bodies for quite a few years now. Very competitive, Now, producer Jack Rutherford has gotten even better.

The current status of racing Thunderjets has never been more emulous. The trend in recent months has been to shrink 1/74 scale diecast cars down to near HO scale, and fit them with posts. It's working. Vast stables of new 1:1 designs are hitting the market, and the Fandango Nissan 350Z GT is a class example of that trend.

One feature of these cars that places them above offerings from years past is that one size truly does fit all. T-jet skinny, TuffOne, and Fray car (long wheel base). The car does not come with a rear window, but cut an angle off the back of the gear plate, and fashion a clear plastic insert from packaging material, and you"re ready to qualify for most club classes.

The car comes ready to snap on, screws included. Trimmed, drilled, and painted (seem to be clear coated, too), with front window perfectly glued in place. Very nice detail. Screws are Phillip's head, round in the rear, and flat forward, allowing you to slam it you want .300 tires up front.

The body, sans screws, weighs in right at 3 grams. There is little hogging necessary in general, but the sides have quasi-pans that probably could account for a .5 gram reduction if one desired.

How does it perform? Like nothing I have ever owned. This body knocked off more than half a second to my track records, and it did it with ease. That was right out of the box. I did that with a Fray chassis, and did not test it on a T-jet skinny or TuffOne. I can only imagine improved times in any case.
