The first Race of the San Jose Youth Slotcar Organization's Driver's Challenge is in the books. If you listen hard you can still hear the roar of the Lamborghini's that raced around the Skjerbergring last Saturday. From a racing perspective it could not have been closer and the lap totals reflect it! From a FUN perspective I think everyone involved had a good time. Completing the race took longer than I had expected and this can be shortened if its a concern so please let me know.

There was some fantastic racing turned in by both the children as well as the adults. The ladies were very fast with Brittany Reichel in 3rd and Andrea Hyde was 7th. Tops for the children were Brandon Hecke, Kyle Skjerven, Brittany Reichel, and Alec Skjerven. The adults featured some very close racing with positions 1 and 2 finishing on the same lap, 3rd was 1 lap behind and fourth was just 3 laps off the pace.

I would like to thank everyone for their participation, great sportsmanship and help marshalling deslotted cars. We had 16 teams racing on Saturday. The racing was timed heats for total laps. The total for a Team included the parent and the child's total together. Because the racing was so close, track position played a major part in tie breaking for both the children and the adults. See you on February 10th!
