Nurora/Philly T-Jets Summer Nationals

By Ed Penland
First, I want to thank all who participated in the
Nurora/Philly T-Jets Summer Nationals
especially these sponsors:

Nurora - www.nu-rora.net
Thunderslicks - www.thunderslicks.com
JB's ThunderBrushes - www.thunderbrushes.com
Great Traditions - www.greattraditions.com
HO World - www.howorld.net
Philly T-Jets - www.users.fast.net/~tjets

without whose support these races would not be possible.

People were waiting at the door for Great Traditions to open at 10AM on
Saturday. There was a lot of tension in the air, with everyone wondering
if they had THE car for the
Nurora/Philly T-Jets Summer Nationals
By Noon, there was a pretty good crowd there for the racing. With this
race scheduled for the middle of the day, the first 10 classes were run
with most people's minds on the Summer Nationals. I have to admit, the
cars were VERY fast and the racing was close. Here's how it turned out.

Fourth Place

Dave Sims running a Burgundy El Camino who received an El Camino
unfinished race kit

Third Place

Jim Pauley running a Gold Camaro who received a Boss 302 unfinished race kit

Second Place

Scott Dunlop running a Black over Blue El Camino
who got to select the first place prize of the Blue El Camino (identical
to the one he raced) and received 3 sets of Thunderslicks Color Walls,
and 3 pair of JB's Thunder Brushes

The Champion of the first Nurora/Philly T-Jets Summer Nationals IS:

Sam Johnson running a Maroon Camaro
who opted for the Second place prize of the Orange Boss 302 and received
3 sets of Thunderslicks Color Walls, and 3 pair of JB's Thunder Brushes

Besides these winners, there were additional prizes of a Green Nurora
Body, 2 JL Black GS Vettes, 2 additional unfinished Nurora Kits, several
bags of guide pins, wheels and axles that were drawn by lot from all of
the entries so everyone received something. In addition, everyone
received an Iron-on patch with the event logo, pit box stickers with the
event logo and a Philly T-Jets magnet.

It was a great event, and a good time was had by all.
