| The results are in, the members have spoken. There was quite a bit of interest in the voting for the HO World 2002 Car of the year. In November, 20 cars were nominated by members of the HO World List (HOWL). These were: Bauer Ford GT 40 Big Roy 57 Chevy Fandango Racing Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing Flamed Audi Flamed Mako Shark Flamed Lola HO World Windmill 360 Johnny Lightning Series 2 Chassis Pink Panther Challenger Chevelle Black Flamed Willys Blue Vette GS Lifelike Sure Lock Breaks Winged Sprint Car MEV Originals 1957 Ford Fairlane D-Type Jaguar 1953 Packard Road Race Replica Torino Convertible Limited Edition 'Glia Monster (Metallic Orange) Tomy Cobra Daytona Wizzard Patriot 3 Extreme Every one of the nominated cars are wonderfully done and deserve recognition. However, we can only have one car of the year, so here are the results of the voting, done in December by the members of HOWL. 4th Place JL Chassis Much of the talk on HOWL about this was how Johnny Lightning brought back the fun of having inexpensive slot cars to just race and how their release of a new chassis has started to bring kids back into the hobby. 3rd Place Bauer Ford GT40 This car has been done by many manufacturers, but none have done it as well as Bauer. It's an absolutely beautiful rendition. 2nd Place Tomy Cobra Daytona Again, a masterpiece of modeling and production. This one belongs in every collection. AND, THE WINNER, AND HO WORLD'S 2002 CAR OF THE YEAR IS Fandango Racing Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing Fandango Racing is a new entry into the resin cast field, but in the short time they have been producing cars, they have produced masterpieces. The Mercedes epitomizes their desire to create beautiful yet raceable bodies. Along with their ability to mold in flames in their work, I'm sure that Fandango Racing cars will be showing up more and more at a track near you. ------ I want to thank all of the member of HOWL who took the time to nominate the cars and to vote for their favorite.
