Installation of a Clarostat 100ohm Resistor in a Parma Pro Turbo controller.

The particular Clarostat Resistor I used for this demonstration is a
model VP-25-KA 100. It is a 25 watt unit, 1/2" wide and is
approximately 2" long. There is also a model VP-10-FA 100 which is 10
watts and I am told that this unit is .3" wide and is 1-3/4" long, whichmay work better in the Parma Turbo controller. The ones we use just
happened to be the only ones we could find at the time, so we adapted.
I am no electrical guru, so I can't tell you whether the 25 watt or 10
watt is the better unit.
Note: This procedure can be applied to other models of controllers, and with other brands of resistors.
Remove the casing from the controller.
Loosen the bolt attaching the standard resistor.
Remove the white wire from the standard resistor with an iron.
Using a Dremel with metal cutting blade, remove the front tab completely.
Shave the button on the sweeper arm at a ROUNDED 45-degree angle, on the brake side of the button .
Slide bolt through Clarostat from rear, attaching nut on front end.
Solder white wire to front tab of Clarostat.
Adjust sweeper, brake tab, front tab and Clarostat to make sure button "raises" as it comes back towards insulation, but will still sweep entire resistor surface when pulling trigger, and will contact front tab when trigger is fully depressed.
Route wire correctly, and re-attach case, making sure there is no interference.
