| There is not much of story behind the US GP poster I sized to HO for my future layout. I saw a small copy on the But Wait, There's More... in Autoweek. It was way too large for on the side of a building, but I thought it would be a good memory of the first US GP in years. So I scanned it in Photoshop, then I reduced the size and saved in jpg format to allow me to print and mount on my layout, when it does get built. I also bought a copy of the poster, signed by the artist, from speedgear. That will later mount over my track in my basement. Currently, my downstairs family room is my daughter's bedroom, so I cannot start construction of an extended platform. I have a 4x8 temporary layout in the back storage area, but I have not added any permanent scenery yet. I have started construction of some building for a future city area (Cherrington Park) and will also include a train, a small bullring oval track of TRX track, and the race track area (Brooklands Speedway). Until then, I am stockpiling and planning. When I retire in 4 years, 6 months and ten days (but who is counting), I will finally have time to develop the layout, complete more scenery, and convert die-cast cars to Tjet chassis. I have a dream. Dave Reese | |
