––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Neal Abramson's mods on his favorite cars, Porsches. These make beautiful, inexpensive, runners. See the previous article for How-To on body modifications
Matchbox RPS og/gn#2 that was converted to Tyco power. In back is an Ideal TCR Porsche wh/bl#33 converted to G+ power.
Matchbox Speedtrack Porsche' "Pacer" w/rd/bl#20 and a Matchbox RPS Porsce' 935 w/rd#4 that are mounted on Tyco 440-X2 chassis's.This was not a simple case of building mounts & just mounting on the chassis. The car on the left was not a project for the faint-hearted as it had to be cut & sectioned 6 ways. The right-hand car was just modified in the rear Quarter panels. This had to be done otherwise the cars would be too wide to be run on a HO track.I will go into more detail in later articles.
Lionel power passer Porsche's yl/gn#7 & bk/yl/rd.The front airdam had to be cut & sectioned to work with the G+ chassis as it was originally the front "bumper" for the original slotless chassis
Ideal TCR Porsche' Glo og/rd#77 and a Matchbox Speedtrack Porsche' 936 ltbl/og#5 That now run on Tomy G+ power.I use the G+ on these cars because of the fact that they are narrow bodies plus the fact that the G+ chassis has an additional longer wheelbase that is needed for the wheel openings of these cars that the Tomy turbo does not have. The cars that are converted to Tyco power have wider bodies that accomadate the chassis. With the new chassis's these cars really scream down the track plus they are unique in relation to the Tyco's,Tomy's & Lifelikes that are commonly seen.
