| Isuggest using the TrackMate system for timing. They have two models, one for $125 that is great for the just getting started person and a $450 system that is the next step for the more serious racer.The $450 system gives you one extra set of sensors so you can have 60 foot and/or 1/8 mile et. Also it gives you a more accurate mph, using a 2 foot speed trap at the end, instead of an average for the entire quarter mile in his $125 unit. The guys name is Daniel Groulx , and his number is 604-582-1946, thats Western Canada, he's a great guy and will be glad to answer questions to anyone, he currently has the only system out there commercially available for HO drag racing. He also has lane counters for you roundy rounders. He can set you up with the lights for your tree and even install the program in a computer for you for an extra $100. Supply's you with all your sensors. Its easy to set up as he gives you all the intructions. You just install it in a cheap 286, 486, or whatever computer. Install your sensors, just drill holes in your guide pin area and then install them from underneith the track. You then use an overhead light bulb shining down on the sensors for your detection There currently are a bunch of these sytems out there in use and are excellent models We are getting ready for the DRHOE U.S. Nationals at the SUPERPLEX this coming June 23rd, it will be the greatest drag race in HO history. So make plans to attend. Be a real reporter and bring your pen and paper, your camera, and witness first hand the most brutal, raw, all out power and absolute best looking cars in HO, all in the confines of a 14x40 basement.
